My name is Carol or Aunt Carol to my pet friends.  I started pet sitting in the mid 80's.  I started out sitting for friends, then word spread and I had a regular client base.  With many life changes I stopped pet sitting but really missed my furry friends.  So, I got my own dog, Zeus.  Zeus was a rescued brindle pit/lab mix and only 5 months old! WoooHooo a puppy!!  I had a lot to learn about puppies and training and made a vow, that I would be the best dog owner and a responsible one.  Puppies are cute......and a lot of work!!  Zeus and I were together for 14 wonderful years.  I loved being his guardian, training (each other), being best friends and the mutual unconditional love!

I felt so empty after Zeus crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2010 but I wasn't ready to get another dog yet.  That is when I decided to start pet sitting again.  It is very different this time around, I have a much stronger passion for animals, especially dogs and cats; I have more experience and confidence.  However, some things remain the same, I am still very reliable, honest, trustworthy and professional.

Joey and Aunt Carol had a very special bond

I learned first hand that hiring a professional pet sitter vs. boarding Zeus in a kennel was so much better for his health and well-being.  After my first trip leaving Zeus at home in the care of Amy, his first professional pet sitter, I never again worried about him.  I had Peace of Mind knowing he was safe in our home, comfortable, happy, eating, exercising and playing with his new friend, Amy.

Since I started my pet sitting business I have been educating myself about fostering because I thought I would try to foster a pup.  I checked out the Alternative Humane Society and ended up volunteering and learning a lot about fostering and rescue.  For me it is very difficult when one of our fosters gets adopted because "we bonded" but in the end I am so happy and proud to be a part of helping that pup get adopted.

Although I am not officially a volunteer any longer for the Alternative Humane Society (AHS), I contribute in any way I can by sharing available foster dog posts on social media (it really helps), donating money or time and even helping search for several different lost dogs.  I learned a lot about searching and finding lost dogs and the most important thing for people to do is take action ASAP by hanging posters, posting on social media, knocking on neighbor doors, contacting your local Humane Society, recruiting friends and family to help and don't give up!

I was very honored to have a mention in article  about the Alternative Humane Society by the Bellingham Herald:  Finding forever homes for dogs

After 40 years in the automotive industry as a Finance Manager, Internet Manager, office worker and Salesperson I took the biggest leap in my life in 2014 and went full time with my pet sit/dog walking business!!  It was scary but I knew this is what I'm supposed to be doing and have never looked back.
